iPhone - Reviewed
Apple Inc, known to master artistic technology, has harnessed fantasy and made it into something we can touch, keep and flaunt. Last year, it introduced its newest product, the iPhone that has become the most talked about gadget up until now. With so much media frenzy and soaring reviews upon its release, the iPhone was Time magazine’s Invention of the year for 2007.
One can flatly describe the iPhone as “just an iPod with a phone.” However, everyone who has seen, much more felt and experienced it, knows there is nothing to be modest about in having it. It is a sleek beautiful piece of art with curved edges that feels perfect in the hand. It is thin and wide, but with its chrome edging design it can still be used with one hand. The iPhone’s design is both chic and powerful. It is a smooth blend of subtlety and boldness. The power button and the dock connectors are almost unnoticeable but the black-silver, shiny-matte design brings out the body of this device.
Apple created the iPhone for optimal entertainment. The multifunctional iPhone has a camera and a media player. Its widescreen has a resolution of 320x480 and the freshly charged battery will let you play high-quality movie up to 7 hours and enjoy music up to 16 hours. That is equivalent to four movies! Moreover, you can also enjoy watching your movie collection in this device using the video movie converter. Would you believe that this is free? It has Internet capabilities for e-mail, web browsing, but the most loved feature is the local Wi-Fi connectivity. It is one of the main things buyers like about this phone. It’s so convenient because it determines the hot spot on it's own and will seamlessly switch from EDGE to WiFi even when it is closed. Once out of range, the phone will automatically switch back to EDGE. Since WiFi is free in most public places, those who go online thru their cellular phones see this as a break from extra charges of their usage.
The iPhone is an all-in-one machine for fun, yet busy, seekers. Because of this gadgets popularity, a lot of much enjoyed forms of entertainment are modifying their settings for it to be iPhone compatible. Youtube is an example of such. It has re-encoded some of their videos with advance H.264 codec. By autumn this year, more than 10,000 videos are expected to be available for the phone. To top it all off, you can sync YouTube videos to iPhone from PC.
As a communication device, the iPhone has a multi-touch screen where you can pull up the virtual keyboard for text messaging. You can bring it with you anywhere in the world because it is a quad-band mobile phone that uses the GSM standard. It is truly a fantasy at the palm of your hand but that’s not the end of it. A version of Apple's iPhone is expected to be introduced in 2008 that is capable of operating on faster 3G cellular networks.
