Distance learning

Distance learning is a great option of learning for working professionals and housewives, who generally have less time to spare for studies. In distance learning you may listen to your instructor via a cassette or a CD or you can use one-way satellite broadcast to transmit the videos of your lessons.

Online learning programs are also catching up with the masses. But you have to be careful while choosing them because not all are trustworthy. They maybe are operating today and gone the other day. So, you should choose online learning programs that are reputed and have been in existence for a long while.

The biggest advantage of distance learning is its convenience. Without going to school you can learn everything that is taught at the school right in your home. This is also helpful for those who are physically disabled.

The first university to award distance learning degrees was University of London way back in 1858; the next one was University of South Africa, in 1946. In 1969 and 1974, both UK and Germany launched Open Universities respectively.

When both the student and teacher are unavailable at their locations then the teacher can record his teachings in a CD or a cassette and send to his student. Audiographics technology is also an essential aspect of distance learning. It is also called the electronic whiteboard as it uses the screen of your PC to display written information. This technology is effective in the lecture aspect of distance learning.

It may be a good option for those who are unable to attend regular school due to physical and time constraints. But for those who are opting for distance learning due to monetary constraints may find it quite difficult. No doubt there are distance learning programs that are quite cheap, but their credibility and quality bear a question mark. And the fee of the programs are offered by reputed institutes are comparable to that of schools. So it beats the whole purpose of distance learning when you can get the same education in the school at the same price. But, nonetheless, distance learning is a great education option.

Distance learning is great specially for mother's who have infants at home and can not find time to go to a school at a particular time. Distance learning is really advantageous.

Yeah I think too distance learning is good. I want to learn transcription online. There are programs available in the net but the fees are expensive. If given the chance I will someday. Learning transcription can help me alot because alot of online jobs are being offered as transcriptionist. Nice article too!

I loved taking distance learning classes. Most colleges require the same fees as regular classes. I've heard some employers do not approve of online classes, but since the material is the same, I can't see what the problem possibly is. In fact, students that are successful with distance learning are probably better employees because they must be more focused than regular students. Great article.

Distance learning diploma programs are a great option as well because they are very affordable and payments can be made monthly at about $30.00-$40.00 a month.

I recently came across a learning programme which had a earn part in form of referring the course. So your earning doesn't stop and you could be more skilled with the various courses it offers as well

Distance learning is a wonderful thing. I have a friend who's children are homeschooled through distance learning and they are receiving much more attention then they would at a public school. I have also taken distance learning classes and really enjoyed them.
