Thanks for All Your Help

Thank you all for helping me through this frustrating time with the Informative Post.  I am happy to say, however, we are just about up and running just like normal again.  Today, I just finished the "Buy Content" section where 3rd parties can purchase the Informative Post’s authors writing services.

During this time I have also been cleaning up code, fixing bugs and spelling/grammar mistakes.  Most of which have been brought to my attention by the faithful Informative Post community authors.  I think I can safely assume that not all the bugs are cleaned out of the code, but I hope if any of you do notice any bugs, I would appreciate it if you could notify me of the issue.  That way I can take care of it quickly to make the site better for the rest of the members.

I know that this past month has been very frustrating for you all, and I hope you all can understand how frustrating it has been for me too, lol.  Anyway, I feel we have hit the low point with the poor performance of the framework I was using and being forced to re-factor the entire code base!  If that wasn’t the low point, I don’t want to know what is! :)  In all seriousness though, I am so thankful for the authors that have stuck around and continue to write great content for the Informative Post.  I feel that your experiences here will be so much greater now that the site is running smoothly.

I would also like to mention that now that the Jobs section of the site is working again, we still have one more job that needs to be completed.  The Lia Sophia Job needs two more articles.  The partner that put in this order has been very understanding and patient with the site, and I would like to repay her, by finishing it up quickly.  If any of you know anyone that needs articles written, please let them know about our service that we provide.  I am trying to get the word out right now by posting in forums and such, to bring more work in for you all.

Please keep in touch, and again, please let me know if you guys spot any bugs or spelling/grammar mistakes in any of the content.  Also, THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP!

Thanks for getting everything up and running.

My article for the Lia Sophia was rejected because of the SIZE of the font. Now, I can't post it back when I click on "Write" because the article gets posted in the queue. Please fix this problem.

Also, do you think that you could somehow lower the payout to 10? Because earning points to make our AP rating is quite difficult. If we can't publish more then we can't earn AP points much, and if we can't earn AP points then we can't publish. I think that this is quite difficult to solve especially for those who are relatively new to the site.

I agree with princessjoy25. It's really hard to earn enough points for our articles to be reviewed. Could it be possible that the first two or three articles for a member are reviewed no matter what the AP just so the writer has a chance to earn AP on page views? It could also make writers more eager to write for IP if they see that new writers are given a fighting chance.

Thanks for all your hard work on getting the site back up and running!

I agree. I've only had one article published so far and I have an AP rating of 10. I don't know how I'll ever get high enough to have more articles reviewed. It will take years to get enough points!

It would be great if there were a way to give new writers, like myself, a better chance at gaining AP points. I've already written ten articles for the site but only one has been reviewed and how that happened, I don't really know.

Just my two cents. I'll probably hang around and keep commenting, trying to gain AP, for a while anyhow. :)

Well, I'm glad that some people share my views. Well, the site will probably go down if you follow my suggestion but I still wish there was away to do this in the system. I had written for a partner before and my work there has already been published, maybe you could just separate those who are made for the site and those for partners.

AP Points

@ 6:30 am 09/19/08 by Mona Rigdon
I write for several sites and this one seems pretty down to earth, but he AP points thing is confusing. I don't see the point in writing articles that will likely never get reviewed. I have written one article, for Lia Sophia. There have been no other listed jobs, so I am using my time to write for sites that I am most likely to be paid for, as I have four kids and we are looking at foreclosure right now. Writing is my second job. There needs to be some kind of guide for new producers, and there also needs to be some type of amendment to the AP rating procedure. Perhaps authors can also be reviewers for the site, and review articles for a fee? That would make it possible for more articles to be reviewed. Peer reviewing works for helium, and they have a ton of work in the marketplace, as well as a ton of authors. I dunno. I like the idea of this site, but so far, it hasn't really been beneficial to me.

Ya, i have to agree the whole AP point thing is just weird, at least to me, no offense, I mean i would like to publish 10, 20 , 30 articles on this site but i have not done so because i have no idea if they ever will be review here.

I feel that informative post has great potential and i hope you guys can work out a way for the writers to publish with ease at a faster rate because that seems to be the common feedback.

My suggestion is to use the AP point only for the page impression pay rate and review all writers at the same pace, the benefit is that everybody will submit more articles. For example, if you could have a standard review deadline of 1 to 2 weeks for all articles submitted, it could work out very well.

My 2 cents.

I agree: I think that using AP to govern when content is reviewed is a little odd. Actually, that's the one thing that's kept me hesitant to submit a lot of articles, and I have one of the highest AP ratings on the entire site!

I can write a hell of a lot of search-engine friendly, keyword rich content -- content that I'd love to give to Informative Post -- but I'm hesitant to do so because I know that when I do my AP rating will take a hit for a several days until the page views start to come in. :(

Thanks for getting the site back up and running though!
