Ronaldo's lawyers say they will sue the German magazine, which originally reported the allegations.
As seen on The Sun, photos of Ronaldo out withMayorgaa the night of the incident have surface online and while it does not point towards conviction, Mayorga's lawyers are intent on going ater Ronaldo for more than the alleged settlement sum.
According to her complaint, Ronaldo said he was sorry after the attack and that "he was usually a gentleman", CNN reports. He allegedly bought her silence for $375,000, the amount her earned every week at Real Madrid.
Mayorga says she went to the hospital and filed a police report but was unwilling to name the famous forward, out of fear of public humiliation, but when she later told the police the name of the man who allegedly raped her, it began.
The woman, Kathryn Mayorga, told her story to the German magazine Der Spiegel.
Bridge and ferry connections between Sweden and Denmark closed by police
The Oresund Bridge, which connects Denmark with Sweden , was closed in both directions at around 1pm United Kingdom time. Denmark's railway operator said on Twitter it could move trains to and from the island of Zealand again.
Ronaldo took part in an Instagram live earlier this week where he responded to fans' questions on a variety of topics.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo's lawyers are set to take Der Spiegel and Mayorga to court."It violates the personal rights of our client Cristiano Ronaldo in an exceptionally serious way". "The reason why I signed the contract in the first place [was] because I didn't want my name out there". She says he sodomized her, resulting in "severe emotional and bodily injuries including but not limited to anal contusions, post-traumatic stress disorder, and major depression", per the suit.
The court documents claim the footballer confirmed the pair had sex but said it was consensual.
She told the publication she didn't process what happened until she got into her auto.
Ronaldo's team forcefully denied Der Spiegel's account and threatened legal action against the publication.
Ronaldo has since denied the allegations against him through a representative, calling them "untruthful and false".
