I won't deny that the Samsung Galaxy A9 is a nice looking phone.
The company is aiming to do one better with the Galaxy A9, the world's first quad camera phone.
Now that all that technical stuff out of the way, let's talk about the reason you clicked this article. Don't forget to also check out our coverage on the first phone to feature four rear cameras at the links below. At the very top is an ultra-wide 8-megapixel unit, with an aperture of f/2.4.
The new module is the 10MP telephoto camera with f/2.4 lens. While the front side houses a single 24MP selfie camera, the backside is where all the magic takes place. It isn't clear how these cameras work seamlessly together, I'd assume the camera UI switches between lenses at various zoom levels, and all make use of the depth sensor for effects. That does not make the phone a super affordable offering, however. In ending comments Koh suggested that Samsung will start selling the phone under a different small niche, later it will expand with time.
It's somewhat odd for Samsung to launch a phone with world-first features that's not a flagship, but the A9 is plenty powerful. There's no notch in sight, either: instead, Samsung has squeezed chunky chin and forehead bezels above and below the display.

Samsung did not give a specific launch date for the new Galaxy A9.
There's also a helpful Flaw Detection program that analyses shots and warns you immediately if things are out of focus or if someone blinked while you were taking the shot.
Retail prices begin at £549, in a range of colours from Caviar Black to Bubblegum Pink to Lemonade Blue, whatever that might mean.
The A9 also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a fingerprint scanner at the back. It comes with 128GB storage which can be further expanded up to 512GB. They offer either 6 or 8GB of RAM, and both come with 128GB of storage.
Android 8.0 Oreo comes pre-installed on the device, while a 3,800mAh battery is also a part of the package (support fast charging).
