Max Kellerman says that Carmelo Anthony has just not been performing as well as he should be.
Marc Stein of The New York Times reports Anthony has been informed his brief stint with the team will soon to come to a conclusion.
"The organization has trod delicately on finalizing an exit for Anthony out of respect for his relationships within the team and his stature as a 10-time All-Star and future Hall of Famer", MacMahon wrote.
The news of his potential departure comes after ESPN reported the Rockets were already having discussions with Anthony about his role with the team. He's accepted every role Coach has given him - starting, off the bench, whatever it's been.
Head Coach Mike D'Antoni says the Rockets are playing bad collectively and that the fault does not fall exclusively on Carmelo Anthony. "Like I said, we'll see what happens".
Anthony's tenure with the Rockets is expected to end after he played in only 10 games, averaging 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 40.5 percent from the floor. The Rockets' net rating is 8.8 points per 100 possessions better when Anthony sits than when he plays, according to NBA.com statistics.
In Somalia, the attack took place, killing 20 people
Guards at the Sahafi hotel and the adjacent CID office opened fire after two suicide auto bombs went off on Friday afternoon. Al-Shabab, which is fighting to overthrow Somalia's government, claimed responsibility for the attack.
Anthony, who was out for the second straight game Sunday night with an illness, is in his first season with the Rockets after one year in Oklahoma City. "That's a hindrance ... and we've got to fix that".
"We've been extremely happy with his approach", Morey said.
As of now, it's unclear how the Rockets will handle the Anthony situation.
"Melo's been great and he's done everything we've asked", D'Antoni said. That's me saying that and knowing that.
"It's unfair that there's all this speculation on just one person", Morey said. Anthony and the Rockets were both enthusiastic about his reunion with D'Antoni in the preseason, but both Anthony and the team - which has had injuries and lost key personnel in free agency - are off to a slow start.
