The app by TRAI allegedly shared user's call and message logs with authorities in India. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had released the DND app for Android and iOS platforms back in 2016. While privacy concerns have been raised, the app does promise to offer some resistance to the problem of spam calls and text messages in India.

What the app is really trying to do, though, is get you to authorize a transaction for $89.99 using Touch ID by "dramatically dimming the screen" to such a degree that you hopefully won't notice the charge. And now, the app is available for iPhone and iPad users as well.
