After his quick win, Mayweather insisted it did not change the fact that he is retired.
It looked just like you would expect a 50-0 boxing legend vs. a 20-year-old kid to look. "Just fighting is something I've done for over 30 years, so it's just another day".
Floyd Mayweather came out of retirement briefly to score a lucrative victory in an exhibition boxing match in Japan over kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa that will do more for his bank balance than it did for the reputation of combat sports.
Mayweather's comments pretty much killed talk of him being interested in fighting the victor of the January 19 bout between Manny Pacquiao, whom Mayweather outpointed in May 2015, and Adrien Broner.
The ruthless victory inside two minutes doesn't go down on each of the fighters' records as Mayweather returned to the ring for the first time since his bout against UFC's Conor McGregor in August 2017.
Mayweather claimed through his Instagram account prior to arriving at Saitama Arena that he would be paid $9 million for facing Nasukawa.
Mayweather described the fight as'entertainment
Although he put on a great performance, it won't count on Mayweather's boxing record.
The contest was eventually waved off after Nasukawa was floored on three occasions, with the final knockdown leaving him flailing against the ropes.
"I want to say thank you to Tenshin. I'll do that with these fists, with one punch - just watch". Not only is Nasukawa extremely inexperienced in boxing, he was much smaller than the 5-feet-8 Mayweather.
Mayweather began smiling and relaxed.
Instead, to his credit, he showed true class and had some very kind words for Nasukawa.
But Mayweather's laser-like accuracy saw another left hook find the target. With his hands down, Mayweather was openly laughing before opening up his attack. The Japanese crowd were well behind their fighter as the two boxers entered the ring but that was as good as things got for the home crowd.
