As per the reports in CricketNext, CoA Chief Vinod Rai wants to appoint an ad hoc ombudsman for the inquiry as per BCCI's legal advisor, but co-member Diana Edulji wanted a permanent member to handle the matter, as per the new constitution. But, it did not turn good for the show and for the cricketers.
As reported by NDTV, Vinod Rai, in a letter, addressed to Edulji, wrote, "In my view, the CoA is duty bound to follow the new constitution and what you are suggesting is neither in consonance with the constitution nor is it as per the legal advice received".
