India and Iran, after suffering from two "heinous" terrorist attacks in the past few days, have agreed on close cooperation to combat terrorism in the region as External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met the country's Deputy Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi here. Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari, threatened to retaliate against neighboring Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates over the attack.
The pledge came as the crown prince, widely known as "MBS", prepared to head for India later Monday, at the conclusion of his two-day visit to Pakistan.
"If, for whatever reason, the activities of the training centers and shelters of terrorist groups in Pakistan continue, Iran has the right to fight these centers based on the United Nations charter and will adopt related decisions if required", Mohammad Bagheri, chief of general staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, said on February 18.
Iran took advantage of the bombing, which targeted Zahedan last Wednesday and killed 27 Revolutionary Guards soldiers, to accuse Pakistan of being involved in the attack.
Iran's Shi'ite Muslim authorities say militant groups operate from safe havens in Pakistan and have repeatedly called on the neighbouring country to crack down on them.
27 IRGC personnel were killed in the bomb attack in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan on Wednesday.
After his arrival late Sunday, MBS signed $20 billion in investment deals with cash-strapped Islamabad and vowed to free thousands of Pakistani prisoners in Saudi custody.

The Pakistan foreign minister said that working groups and other high-level bodies for Saudi investment have been made time bound to meet regularly to follow the updates.
"The patience that we have practised in the past towards Saudi Arabia and the UAE, who commit these actions, will change", Jafari added.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to see that its common border with Pakistan is a border of friendship and peace, he said.
