Netanyahu: Israel has relations with whole Middle East except Syria

In a re-issued statement to the media, Netanyahu's office said the goal of the meetings in Poland was "to advance the common interest of combatting Iran".

Netanyahu, who met with the Omani foreign minister on the sidelines on Wednesday, called the conference a "historical turning point" in tackling the threat from Iran.

The initial tweet, translated from Hebrew, had the prime minister saying: "What is important about this meeting, and it is not in secret, because there are many of those-is that this is an open meeting with representatives of leading Arab countries, that are sitting down together with Israel in order to advance the common interest of war with Iran".

Although it is absent from the stage, Iran is nevertheless taking the spotlight at a Middle East security conference co-hosted by the United States and Poland that has highlighted deep divisions between the US and some of its traditional allies.

Russian Federation and China aren't participating, and the Palestinians, who have called for the meeting to be boycotted, will also be absent.

He also confirmed Israel carried out a strike against Iran in Syria a day before.

On Wednesday, Netanyahu boasted of the strong ties Israel is building with Arab countries in the region.

However, Luria and Gottheimer point to the recent support of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement is "anti-Semitic".

Iran has also ramped up its rhetoric against Israel, promising to wipe it off the political map. The New York Times pointed out that Syria has been a target of Israeli attacks in recent months, stating that the attacks aimed to remove alleged Iranian targets.

US Vice President Mike Pence is leading Washington's delegation, which includes US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and senior White House adviser Jared Kushner, who is also Donald Trump's son-in-law.

US President Donald Trump also unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal a year ago and reimposed sanctions on Tehran. "But Netanyahu and Gulf countries are eager to focus on Iran".

Iran was not invited to the summit and Palestine declined to attend.

"Time and again, this administration had found itself drunk on its own Kool-Aid, isolated from our friends, and belatedly forced to scramble to save face", Price said, adding that not a single country in the European Union endorsed Trump's pullout from the Iran nuclear deal.
