As moviegoers patiently wait for the director's highly anticipated Once Upon a Time In Hollywood to hit the theaters, Leonardo DiCaprio did fans a favor on Monday by sharing the film's official poster and release date on Twitter. The film follows the two as they navigate through Los Angeles during the Charles Manson family murders in 1969. It features his character, actor Rick Dalton, standing in front of the Hollywood Hills.
DiCaprio posted the image with the caption, "Hollywood".
The setting for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is 1969 Hollywood.
The thing is, most of the information we have about that time in Hollywood and the Manson murders doesn't give Sharon Tate her own story.
Despite the outrage by some, many Tarantino followers shared their excitement for the film when he shared the poster on his Instagram account. The movie also stars Margot Robbie, Al Pacino, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Damon Herriman, Dakota Fanning, Bruce Dern, Damian Lewis and Nicholas Hammond.
"Once Upon A Time In Hollywood" will release in cinemas on July 26th; we should expect a trailer for the movie to appear in the following weeks.
Social media reactions range from sharing GIFs and memes comparing the poster to those of romantic comedies like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days to criticising its "photoshopped" look. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (DiCaprio), former star of a Western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Pitt). Luke Perry will be seen for the last time on screen in this film.
