The White House late Monday blasted House Democrats' probe of President Trump's orbit as "disgraceful and abusive", saying their political rivals dug up old claims because they fear special counsel Robert Mueller won't deliver the damaging goods they seek.
The House Judiciary Committee already reportedly tapped "81 people and entities-including the White House, the Justice Department, senior campaign officials, Trump Organization officials and the President's sons" on topics that include "possible corruption, obstruction of justice, hush-money payments to women, collusion with Russian Federation and allegations of the President abusing his office and using it for personal gain".
"Over the last several years, President Trump has evaded accountability for his near-daily attacks on our basic legal, ethical and constitutional rules and norms", Congressman Jerrold Nadler, the panel's chairman, said in announcing the investigation.
Nadler's announcement comes after the House intelligence panel has already announced a separate probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election and Trump's foreign financial interests.
Eighty-one people, agencies and organizations were named by the committee as recipients of document requests, including Trump's adult sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, as well as his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who is Ivanka's husband and a White House adviser.

The United Nations and the USA tightened sanctions on North Korea after a flurry of nuclear and missile tests in 2016-2017. We had a very successful first summit. "And, there were a lot of great ideas being thrown about", Trump said .
Cohen's testimony offered a number of tantalizing leads about hush-money payments he made on behalf of the president in evasion of campaign finance laws, possible conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation, and the extent to which Trump was aware of illegal activity going on within his campaign.
Those criminal probes and others could carry on for months if not years after Mueller completes his Russian Federation investigation, potentially casting an even longer shadow over Trump's time in the Oval Office.
The so-called "presidential harassment" continues from Democrats, with Jerry Nadler sending a document request to the Trump administration. "After recklessly prejudging the president for obstruction, Chairman Nadler is pursuing evidence to back up his conclusion because, as he admits, 'we don't have the facts yet'".

The letter asked the W hite House to make available for interview by the committees any translators, interpreters, linguists or other staff members who listened to conversations between Putin and Trump, either via telephone or in person. "The counsel's office and relevant White House officials will review it and respond at the appropriate time", she said.
Nadler said the special counsel and prosecutors in the Southern District of NY, which are probing many of Trump's associates, were aware of the committee's investigation launch. Sanders, who is the daughter of 2008/2016 GOP presidential candidate and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, also described the investigation as an attempt to hide Democrats' desire to kill babies, promote socialism and "bankrupt America". Those people included family, former business associates and current and former White House advisers.
