Bad news for Canadians who had their eye on Tesla's least expensive auto: Less than two months after announcing the new Model 3 Standard Range at a base price of $47,600 plus freight and delivery charges, the company is now selling it at $53,700 on its website. In Germany, Tesla is charging a base price of 44,500 euros (plus a handling fee of 980 euros) for this version, which offers a WLTP range of 415 km. Any revenue lost from not offering its used cars for purchase is clearly expected to be generated through other profitable means.
To make that easier to stomach, Tesla has also introduced leasing. Several features will be disabled including the vehicle company's onboard music streaming service, navigation with live traffic visualization, and heated seats.
The new Standard will have a software-limited range that's 10 percent less than the Plus. As a result, the price of the $37,500 Standard Plus Model 3 is going up to $39,500.
Moreover, the buyers in the United States will have the opportunity of acquiring their "Long Range" version of Tesla Y. Model Y has more space inside than model three. Buyers can choose any Model 3 variant with annual mileage options of 10,000, 12,000 or 15,000.

Whatever the outcome, the losing parties may petition the Supreme Court to hear the case. One Republican broke ranks and joined Democrats in approving the bill.
The move comes just over a month after Tesla announced that the $35,000 version was finally coming to market. Ordering one requires a call or visit to a Tesla store. Standard Range cars can be upgraded to Standard Plus cars at any time, but Tesla didn't say how much that would cost. The auto has been flaunted as an affordable electric vehicle with a sub-$40k starting price for years, but a few months after bringing its base Standard Range model to market, the vehicle is now gone from Tesla's website. Tesla said it will begin delivering the cars this weekend.
Also, customers will now be able to lease a Model 3, though they won't be able to buy it when the lease is up - Tesla plans "to use those vehicles in the Tesla ride-hailing network", the post says.
The effective base price of a Model 3 ordered online is now $40,700.
In responding a follower on Twitter encouraged Tesla owners to buy a product that covers up a camera over the rear-view mirror of their cars, Musk, 47, confirmed for the first time that the goal of the camera was to record video when owners put their vehicle on the network.
