Unlike their male counterparts from the University of Virginia, and various other sports championship teams, the "Lady Bears" were willing and, it seems, happy to accept an invitation from Trump.
The Daily Caller is reporting that President Trump served Chick-fil-A sandwiches, McDonald's quarter pounders, Wendy's burgers, and Burger King Whoppers to the college athletes.
The team gave Trump a signed basketball, a national championship hat and a Baylor basketball jersey emblazoned with No. 1.
Sleepwalking Warriors snap to behind 'ultimate weapon' Durant
The Los Angeles Clippers pushed the Golden State Warriors to the brink in the first round, with a hard-fought six-game series. Not many predicted this series to go to a Game 6, especially by way of virtue of the Warriors losing two of three home games.
Per Newsweek, Trump was quoted saying, "You know I love those short sleeves, such lovely arms", while brushing his own arm to demonstrate. Neither of the previous two NCAA women's basketball champion teams traveled to D.C., while neither of the WNBA victors received invites.
In 2017, the University of SC women's basketball team declined their invitation to the White House, citing scheduling concerns. "So we went out and we ordered American fast food, paid for by me", Trump said during Clemson's visit.
"In many years to come, you'll be looking back and you're going to be thinking about that incredible season", he said.
The Bears were welcomed to a presidential meal that featured a table full of fast food.
These White House visits really have become a spectacle, and we are totally here for it. "They disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country". Trump has done the same for the North Dakota State Bison football team.
