Trump, talking to reporters as he met Slovak Republic Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini, indicated that he and Putin only discussed Mueller's conclusion that Trump did not collude with Russian Federation in 2016.
"Spoke for a little over an hour", White House press secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters at the White House.
She allowed that the two leaders discussed Mueller's findings that Russians interfered in USA elections but that "the conversation on that part was very quick", before launching into an attack on the Obama administration for not doing enough to prevent foreign election hacking.
"We talked about many things, and he (Putin) is not looking at all to get involved in Venezuela other than he would like to see something positive happen for Venezuela, and I feel the same way. That's why we've taken a whole-of-government approach".
Sanders informed that the two leaders had discussed the outcomes of the investigation by US Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the situation in Venezuela and North Korea, as well as the prospects of prolonging the New START and signing a new nuclear disarmament treaty between Russian Federation, the US and China.
The United States and most other Western countries support Guaido, who invoked the constitution in January to declare himself interim president, arguing that Maduro's 2018 re-election was illegitimate.
Friday's phone call comes at a time of vast scrutiny over the findings of Mueller's investigation, a redacted version of which was released publicly late last month. Mueller didn't find evidence that Trump or any of his associates conspired with the Russian effort.
