In an extreme case of irony, according to a Google employee, the outage was so severe that it also took down internal tools Google engineers were using to communicate among each other about the outage, making recovery efforts even more hard.
Google is dealing with outages among the services that use its Cloud platform.
Widely used services such as YouTube and Snapchat were also down in the affected regions, which appeared to include parts of the Northeast and Europe. Users may see slow performance or intermittent errors. One video, for example, was inaccessible for about 15 minutes.

Google first reported the problem at 12:25 p.m. PT on Sunday. Service appeared to be working normally on the West Coast of the US with the exception of Google Analytics, which was not working in Portland Sunday afternoon.
Google said it had identified the root cause, but did not elaborate.
