It's months until they'll vote, but so far Virginia Democrats say they favor Joe Biden far and away above any of the almost two dozen hopefuls seeking the party's nomination for president in 2020, according to a new Hampton University Center for Public Policy poll.

"Vice president Biden shouldn't need this lesson", he added. His own aides have repeatedly cautioned in White House meetings against elevating Biden from the pack of almost two-dozen Democrats running.
It used to happen all the time in Washington, and it still does, occasionally.
