The special edition version, offered in copper rose or mist grey, will retail for $380 and include an additional wrist band as well as 90 days of Fitbit Premium (more on that in a second). The company is promising a higher-quality breakdown of that information via its new Premium subscription offering. It will also be available through Amazon and Flipkart. There is equally a new Sleep Score function which gives a detailed breakdown grade of your sleep patterns based on your heart rate. It also has nine guided health and fitness programs: Intro to Healthy Habits, Get More Zzz's, Habits for Restful Sleep, Get Active, Beginner Running, Run Training, Understand Calories, Kick Your Sugar Habit and Kick Your Salt Habit.
Programs will include things from structured workout plans to relaxation tools, to actionable coaching.
What's Fitbit Premium, you ask? Fitbit hasn't shared the price for health coaching, though it said that its Premium service will be included with the cost. Of the three, Premium is the only one we're wary of; not because of the service offered, but because some of us already have a problem with Premium services that may be spiralling out of control. The workouts are personalised to each user based on their goals and feedback. With a brand new "sleep score" that averages the data it collects while users snooze and tells the users how well they slept. A pilot program will launch later this year and give subscribers more in-depth data from workouts and sleep sessions, as well as guidance. The smart wearable also provides all-round heart rate tracking. The shape of the watch is also a bit more round and similar to the Apple Watch. Users can use Swim, run and other modes to get the real-time statistics.
Games and challenges: Premium will allow users to participate in challenges and games with other contacts, and notably, they're highly configurable, so you can set the goal and the specifics for accomplishing the goal.
The subscriptions may help Fitbit generate new revenue. These features are created to help users understand their sleep patterns better, ensuring better sleep and better health. Fitbit, which has disappointed Wall Street in recent quarters with sliding smartwatch sales, is taking a page from Apple's playbook by moving beyond device sales to services. It isn't due to launch properly until 2020, though there is a U.S. pilot of the feature scheduled for 2019.
Madeleine Westerhout, Trump's Personal Assistant, Abruptly Quits
Also on Friday, CNN , citing multiple unnamed people, reported that Westerhout shared "intimate details" about the first family. The 29-year-old executive assistant was reportedly earning $145,000 (£120,000) when she was terminated.
The Health Coaching feature is designed for weight loss and diabetes management, as well as one-to-one guidance, expert answers and encouragement.
Fitbit Premium will begin rolling out in September of this year at AUD$14.99 per month or AUD$129.99 per year.
In the UK, Fitbit Premium will cost £7.99/month or £79.99 a year.
When will Fitbit Premium be available?
Versa 2 will be available in stores worldwide beginning 15 September. Support for Amazon's voice assistant is the big upgrade for the second-generation Versa, nearly a year and a half after the original smartwatch appeared, though an OLED screen has also been added alongside several design tweaks.
