Chicago prosecutors said Kelly had sexual contact with five minors and recorded sexually explicit videos of some of them.
Prosecutors allege that the star and his associates recruited and transported underage girls over state lines for illegal sexual purposes, including the production of child pornography.
Kelly has pleaded not guilty to those charges. According to court papers, they include one he met at one of his concerts and another at a radio station where she was an intern.
Also during the hearing, Tiscione officially denied bail to the crooner. He had one woman travel in 2017 to a show on Long Island, where he had unprotected sex with her without telling her "he had contracted an infectious venereal disease" in violation of NY law, they say.
Kelly has a decades-long history of abuse allegations, especially of underage girls.
Bank of Canada unlikely to follow any Fed interest rate cut
The Fed has held the interest rate steady in its prior announcements this year after raising the interest rate four times in 2018. Currently, traders are pricing in a 77 percent chance of a second quarter-percent cut during the FOMC's September meeting.
Wearing blue prison garb, Kelly stretched his back and then sat down in Brooklyn federal court, answering a polite, "Yes, sir", to a series of questions from the judge before his attorney entered the plea on his behalf. She said witnesses were told "they had the option of choosing his side or the other side". It blasts the women and girls as "disgruntled groupies" who years later have "groupie remorse". "However, if that becomes hard, I may just have to wait until he is brought over to the Courthouse and ask for the ability to spend time with him in a preparation visitation alone, and/or with co-defense counsel".
In addition to the two federal cases, Kelly was charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse in a Cook County, Illinois state court in February.
The allegations have swirled for years around Kelly, whom federal prosecutors said last month was "emboldened by his fame and the lack of any real consequences".
He wrote, "I have spent the hours that followed his landing on the phone with the BOP at both New York MCC and Brooklyn MDC trying to locate my client, but no one would provide that information to me, even recognizing I am his attorney, instead directing me to bop.gov to find out where he would be".
The indictment details alleged incidents in four states: Illinois, Connecticut, California and NY.
