The RCMP said in a tweet Monday that they "will not be conducting any additional dives".
"It had gone through some rapids and had been significantly damaged", Insp.
It wasn't immediately clear why an underwater recovery dive team was sent below the river's surface over the weekend.
On 23 July, the pair were named suspects in the double murder of Australian Lucas Fowler, 23, and U.S. citizen Chynna Deese, 24.
Officers did not find anything near the boat Friday night except for a red-and-white water container, Insp.
The RCMP said in an August 5 press release that the URT completed their work and that they will not be conducting any additional dives. A specialized stretcher used to transport people over rugged terrain sat unused at a police staging area.
RCMP Inspector Leon Fiedler said the boat was spotted during a helicopter search of the river on Friday afternoon.

The police search for the pair has involved sniffer dogs, drones, helicopters, boats, ATVs and two military aircrafts.
They didn't say what, if anything, was recovered during the search.
The search for Bryer Schmegelsky, 18, and Kam McLeod, 19, has been going on for weeks, with authorities combing thousands of square kilometres for any sign of the fugitives.
The two men are wanted in connection to three homicides in northern B.C. last month. On July 25, the teens were charged for second-degree murder for the death of Canadian Leonard Dyck.
They are also suspected of shooting Fowler and his girlfriend Deese, who were discovered on a remote stretch of the Alaska Highway on July 15 around 20km from the popular Liard Hot Springs after being shot, although no charges have yet been brought in relation to their deaths.
