The recently presented Frequently Forwarded label was first seen in beta back in March this year. It is addressing the issues faced by users with the introduction of these new features. Well, if a user forwards a message that has been forwarded multiple times before, WhatsApp will now notify the user through a label with double arrow highlighted in grey that it has been forwarded many times. Additionally, WhatsApp has also shortened the longer forwarded messages and to read the full message the users have to tap on the message. Users will also receive a notice if they forward such a message. Such forwarded messages will come with a special double arrow icon.
WhatsApp has begun rolling "frequently forwarded" feature for its users in India. In its FAQ, the company says the number of times a message has been forwarded is end-to-end encrypted. However, WhatsApp won't give out the exact number of times a message has been forwarded. This feature will be given to Android and iPhone users. Then again, that person might as well make a group message or a Facebook event. WhatsApp has been known to launch features which check these happenings and continues to add more and more features. It will let users know if they the message that has been received has been forwarded for more than five times. WhatsApp Global Head Will Cathcart said that the company was aiming to roll-out the service by the end of this year. In this way, the spread of fake news will be stopped or reduced.
