After her dog got into a camel's pen at a Louisiana truck stop petting zoo, a Florida woman was forced to bite the testicles of the 600-pound animal after it chose to sit on her. Problems arose when a man began tossing treats inside Caspar's enclosure, leading his and his wife's dog to hop the fence to go after them, Iberville Parish Sheriff's Deputy Louis Hamilton Jr. told the Advocate on Sunday.
The dog ended up running under a double barbed wire pen belonging to Casper the camel.
Caspar, it was reported, then sat on the woman, who, allegedly, reverted to her animal instincts in an effort to get free. "She said, 'I bit his balls to get him off of me, I bit his testicles to get him off of me, '" Hamilton says, adding the couple was "aggressive" with Caspar.
The woman was sent to the hospital, according to the sheriff.
Caspar has been in the enclosure since last summer, replacing truck stop's previous attraction, Tony the tiger.
Authorities didn't find reasons to hold the truck stop liable for their injuries because the camel was enclosed and signs warning visitors to stay out are posted every 10 feet along the fence. "After they trespassed then they proceed to antagonize something that big", Bossier told local media.
As the lady tried to catch her dog, she disturbed the camel who made a decision to sit down on top of her "very almost crushing her", according to WBRZ.
Giants' Barkley leaves vs. Bucs with ankle injury
Jones also lost a fumble that led to one of Winston's TD passes to Evans, who finished with eight catches for 190 yards. Barkley was injured after his right ankle bent awkwardly while being tackled by Bucs safety Mike Edwards .
"He's really a gentle giant", she said of Caspar. She said she does not understand why the couple didn't simply ask employees for assistance. Tony was euthanized for kidney failure in 2017 after 17 years in captivity. "I watched it", she said.
After Sandlin brought in Caspar past year, the same group told the Advocate that it was "disappointed" the truck stop would "continue to exploit animals to try and promote" business.
"The camel has never been aggressive, the camel has never gotten out, never caused any issues", the officer noted.
Camels can weight up to 1,100 pounds, according to the San Diego Zoo.
The truck driver and her husband were reportedly cited for trespassing and leash law violations.
"My only question to her husband was: 'Why did you throw the doggy treat under the fence?"
