At IFA 2019, Huawei has unveiled its newest chipset lineup, the Kirin 990, which is the first flagship SoC in the world to come with integrated 5G. Using overlay LTE download speeds can reach 3.3Gbps while upload speed reaches 1.32Gbps. The chipset will reportedly power the upcoming Mate 30 despite the uncertainty if the said phone release will run on the Google Android operating system or not. The mobile processor Huawei announces each fall invariably finds its way into the flagship devices the Chinese phone maker releases over the next year, and that sounds like it will be the case with the Mate X, too.
Both chipsets share the same core configuration and feature two high-frequency A76 cores, two medium-frequency A76 cores, and four efficient A55 cores.
The Kirin 990-powered device sounds like the one to get, based on what Huawei's promising with its new mobile processor.
