Trump attacks Democrats, whistleblower over impeachment

"That's up to them to decide but the whole investigation is crumbling", he added, referring to the impeachment inquiry now being undertaken by the House of Representatives into the president's alleged inappropriate interactions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"The Whistleblower drafted the Complaint entirely on their own". "Legal counsel Andrew Bakaj provided guidance on process but was not involved in the drafting of the document and did not review it in advance".

"The whistle-blower contacted the committee for guidance on how to report possible wrongdoing within the jurisdiction of the intelligence community", Boland added.

However, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, after consulting the White House and the Justice Department, declined to promptly submit the complaint to Congress.

The New York Times first reported that Schiff "learned about the outlines" of the whistleblower's concerns before the complaint was filed, after the soon-to-be whistleblower approached a committee aide with vague allegations of wrongdoing by Trump. Soliciting the assistance of a foreign leader to undermine Biden has raised questions of election interference that have been the foundation for the House's impeachment investigation. In the complaint, the whistleblower said they weren't a "direct witness" to the allegations made, but that the whistleblower believed the allegations to be credible because the accounts of multiple officials were "consistent with one another" while also being corroborated by media reports.

The complaint described a July 25 call in which Trump pressed Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate the activities of former vice president Joe Biden and his son and subsequent efforts to restrict access to records of the call.

In recent days, Trump has demanded to know the whistleblower's identity as well as the identity of those who provided information to the whistleblower.

In the meeting with the committee staff, the whistleblower expressed concern that his superiors at the Central Intelligence Agency, who had been alerted of Trump's call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, would not handle the matter correctly, the Times reported. "I'd go a step forward - I think he probably helped write it. OK? I think it's a scandal that he knew before", Trump said, as Finnish President Sauli Niinisto stood at an adjacent podium. "It was a total fabrication", he said.

'Thank you, John. I hate to say it's The New York Times.

Criticism is mounting against Rep. Adam Schiff for his handling of the whistleblower complaint - and how he's conducting the Trump impeachment inquiry.

The video started with the saying: "Democrats are trying to undo the election regardless of facts, attacking the president by any means necessary, fabricating evidence". With 'Shifty Schiff, ' and [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi and all of them - we'll see what happens.

Trump had repeatedly criticized the whistleblower, saying that he wanted to meet with him or her.
