Google has announced that its reward system Google Play Points, that was previously only available in Korea and Japan will be making its way to the United States starting from today. The Google Play rewards program was unveiled in Japan and South Korea a year ago, and as per Google, millions of people in these countries have joined the program. Once you sign up, you'll start earning reward points for everything you do across Google Play, including renting movies, making in-app purchases, buying apps, and more. There will also be opportunities to earn bonus points by downloading featured free apps and games.
There are four levels you can achieve with the rewards program: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. There's a special event running right now that grants you three times the points on your first week.
Google Play Points will be available over the next week. When you are at a higher level, you can get weekly prizes. For instance, one week you could earn 3x points on movie purchases, and the next you could score 5x points for making an in-app purchase in a specific game. This rewards points system will surely inspire more users to utilize the apps on their phones.
