Slightly Mad's managing director, Ian Bell, had previously teased a "Fast and Furious" tie-in back in 2017, but the game wasn't official revealed until now. You can check out the trailer here. We already know that the franchise revolves around fast cars, grand theft auto, and explosive combat.
SVP of production for games at IP owner Universal Jim Molinets added: "Fast & Furious remains one of the most beloved franchises of all time and continues to innovate in extraordinary ways".
"The graphics are so bad it looks like this game was made for the PlayStation 2", wrote one user, while another commented, "Lol can't believe this is actually a console game, I thought it was mobile with those graphics".
But both Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez were at The Game Awards and you can see their likeness, and hear their voices, in the game. The upcoming video game features voiceover performances from Diesel, Rodriguez and Tyrese Gibson in addition to "John Wick: Chapter 3" star Asia Kate Dillon and "The Walking Dead" alum Sonequa Martin-Green. Alongside the single-player story, there'll be a multiplayer mode - more subtleties on that will be uncovered later.
The studio has past history with the "Need for Speed" franchise and, by association, "Fast and Furious". Andy Tudor, Chief Creative Officer, Slightly Mad Studios, had this to say in a statement.
