French flag carrier Air France on Wednesday suspended travel over Iraqi and Iranian airspace.
Fears of further military action in the Mideast and growing concerns over war caused the temporary halt to air travel to the two countries.
The attack was in retaliation by Iran for the killing of its general, Qassem Soeimanni, last week in Baghdad by a USA airstrike.
Malaysia Airlines said it did not fly over Iraqi airspace and would re-route to avoid Iran as a result of the attack.
The latest advisory from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) comes after the USA regulator Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Wednesday issued an emergency directive prohibiting all its carriers from operating in Baghdad flight information region, Tehran flight information region and in the overwater airspace over Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.
Malaysia Airlines said that 'due to recent events, ' its planes would avoid Iranian airspace.
Sources in Air India said that the airline has already started to fly around the Iranian airspace.

Mohamed Azmin also urged all parties not to speculate on the Boeing 737-800 owned by Ukraine International Airlines which went down in Tehran, the capital of Iran, killing 170 people.
Qatar Airways said its flights to Iraq were operating normally.
The region is an important corridor for flights travelling between Europe and Asia, although planes can be rerouted.
