Extended Security Updates (ESU) means crucial updates will continue even though both Windows 7 versions will not receive regular bug fixes and updates or assistance from Microsoft Support. This is the first such report made to Microsoft by the NSA in the history of the NSA.
This is a core Windows component that secures Windows, as it handles "certificate and cryptographic messaging functions in the CryptoAPI".
Microsoft has said Windows 10 is the most secure Windows ever built, with comprehensive end-to-end security that covers antivirus, firewall and internet protections at no extra cost.
Microsoft has addressed a severe bug present in all versions of Windows that allowed malicious parties to spoof security certificates - allowing attackers to execute malicious attacks and access sensitive information.
However, researchers outside Microsoft-including Google's Tavis Ormandy-have a much more dire assessment of the vulnerability and urge users to patch quickly before an active exploit appears.
Hundreds of millions of PCs are now vulnerable to risky malware and attacks after Microsoft removed support for Windows 7 overnight.
The bug doesn't affect Windows 8.1 or earlier Windows client operating systems, or Server 2012 R2 (and older) as they don't support ECC keys with parameters.
Users are advised to check for available updates - the Windows 10 update can be downloaded here. U.S. companies are more likely to move on.
Alex Cora out as Red Sox manager following sign-stealing scandals
The Astros franchise is an embarrassment to the city of Houston and a national disgrace for Major League Baseball. Witnesses say the new scheme was "player-driven" - with the exception of Cora.
Nevertheless, the error happens to be a major one and Microsoft can consider itself fortunate it was found by the premier security agency before any hacking groups having ulterior motives.
Microsoft has been warning users for months it would cease support on January 14, even with a third of all personal computer users still running Windows 7.
"The concern is that as soon as the vulnerability is known about in detail, exploits will be produced and the laggards who don't patch will be prime targets".
San Francisco, Jan 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Microsoft has finally dropped support of Windows 7, almost ten years after first launching the operating system.
Another expert also pointed out that this flaw should be prioritised by all system administrators.
According to Microsoft, this vulnerability impacts Windows 10, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2016 OS versions.
"Although Microsoft rated this as Important, NSA privately disclosed this vulnerability to Microsoft and should be prioritized on all systems", said Graham.
It should be noted that if the exploitation was conducted then the hackers would have easily initiated "man-in-the-middle attacks", which is a type of spying attack and decrypt confidential information which the attackers intercept on user connections.
