After being an National Football League defensive coordinator in Cleveland, Jacksonville and Chicago, Tucker became an assistant again under Saban at Alabama in 2015.
Later, in 2001, he was the defensive backs coach at Ohio State under Jim Tressel, where Dantonio was also the defensive coordinator. After Dantonio left to become the head coach at Cincinnati prior to the 2004 season, Tucker served as the Buckeyes' co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach.
