The feedback by Forkner, who has since left Boeing, had been amongst these pinpointed by US lawmakers in hearings in Washington as proof that Boeing knew about issues with flight management software program earlier than two crashes of its 737 MAX plane in October 2018 and March 2019 killed 346 individuals.
The fifth-largest air carrier in the United States Alaska Airlines is planning to buy 200 new aircraft, including the ill-fated Boeing 737 MAX, in the next 10 years, an internal notice to the company's pilots showed. Meanwhile, one source said that problems were found in more than half of the planes inspected so far, while other sources said the inspectors discovered debris in around two thirds of the aircraft checked.

The debris was discovered during maintenance on parked airplanes, and Boeing said it immediately made corrections to its production system to avoid a recurrence.

Although investigators who examined Max's mishaps have not signaled manufacturing difficulties at the assembly plant in the vicinity of Seattle, Boeing has confronted concerns about debris left in other completed aircraft, which includes the 787 Dreamliner, which is crafted in SC.
