This cancellation comes after other universities have suspended their program or limited student travel in the country.
UW-Milwaukee, meanwhile, has asked two students studying in South Korea to return.
Grand Valley cancelled its China programs for the winter and spring/summer semesters, and its South Korea program for the winter semester. "If we ever got to that level, we would do everything in our power to accommodate the needs of our students", Owczarski added.
A decision on the spring program has not yet been made, the announcement said, but Stanford will "continue to actively monitor the developing system" and make a decision by March 20.
Syracuse University, New York University, Fairfield University and Elon University all confirmed in statements their programs have been canceled.

Global cases have now surged past 81,000, with well more than 2,700 deaths - though the vast majority of fatalities have still occurred in China, where the outbreak began. South Korea is the second country to receive this designation, after China, because of the coronavirus outbreak.
"The occurrence of coronavirus cases has climbed steeply in northern Italy", the school said.
