One case, a male, in the east of Ireland, is associated with travel from northern Italy; one case, a female, in the west of Ireland, is associated with close contact with a confirmed case.
The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United Kingdom has risen to 163.
However the United Kingdom remains in the "containment" phase of tracing coronavirus cases to prevent it spreading in the community, England's deputy chief medical officer has said. Such efforts include early detection of COVID-19 cases, isolation of cases and contacts, and tried-and-true public health measures like hand washing.
The latest figures were released at a Department of Health briefing, after five more cases were confirmed today.

In Germany, the number of cases jumped to 684 on Saturday, reflecting a tenfold increase in the past week and the second-largest number of cases outside Italy, which has at least 4,636 cases.
