IDPH Saturday reported 465 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in IL, as well as 13 new deaths.

In total, the state has almost 3,500 infections.
Separate research published in the journal Pediatrics traced 2,100 infected children in China and noted one death, a 14-year old.

Currently, Illinois is able to test about 4,000 people a day, the governor said. "If not to protect ourselves, but to protect those around us", Ezike said, adding that older adults are at a higher risk of severe illness, with more than 85 per cent of deaths in IL being among individuals aged 60 or over.
