"I don't know why", Lee added, before telling the "First Take" hosts that he would not be returning to Madison Square Garden for a Knicks game for the rest of the team's season. And asked about the picture of him shaking hands with Dolan, Lee said: "My head was spinning".
Lee, a Morehouse graduate and recent Academy Award-winning filmmaker, was confronted upon entering the Garden Tuesday, March 3, 2020, as he looked to take his normal stroll through the building toward his courtside seat.
The incident occurred on the first night on the job for Leon Rose, the longtime player agent who was hired Monday as team president.
Things got interesting on Monday when the 62-year-old movie director was denied entry through the arena using the employee entrance as he has done for years. He replied, "Mr. Dolan, I don't want to talk about nothing", Lee told ESPN on Monday.
As a result of all of this, Lee said he would no longer attend any Knicks game for the season. "It was put in motion that Dolan came to [sit] and speak with me at the half".
The Knicks released an official statement refuting Lee's claims. I mean, this man has been buying tickets for 28 years, over $10 million and you curse him out if he comes this door, that door.
Sen. Mitt Romney will back Burisma/Biden probe
Romney's support for the subpoena is significant, since he was the sole Republican senator to vote to convict Mr. Mitt Romney won't stand in the way of a Senate committee subpoena.
However, Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News spoke with one of the fans in question, who said they were "interrogated" by security and threatened with arrest, but were ultimately walked out and were not banned from the arena.
"It's disappointing that Spike would create this false controversy to perpetuate drama", the statement says. It just keeps happening in NY. Oakley sued Dolan and Madison Square Garden, but the case was dismissed last month. He gave a lot of people chances to better themselves. "It's bad", Oakley, 56, said Wednesday on ESPN's "Golic and Wingo".
"If you wanna stop people from saying stuff, don't come to the games", Oakley said.
Or, who knows, maybe the pull of Durant and Kyrie Irving will be enough for Lee to show up court side at Nets games from now on.
Ex-Indiana Pacers star Reggie Miller, who famously feuded with Lee when he was in the National Basketball Association, tweeted that it might be time for the director to change his team.
