In a written statement earlier on Thursday, the Celtics, not naming Smart, said testing was initiated because of exposure to a known positive case.
"I'm okay, I feel fine".
"I've had no symptoms and I feel great", Smart wrote in another tweet.
"But I can't stress enough practicing social distancing, and really keep yourself away from a large group of people - just really washing your hands and help protect yourself, and help protect others by protecting yourself".
"Help protect others by protecting yourself".

Smart said he was tested five days ago and got the results back on Thursday night.
He says he's been self-quarantined since the test.
Celtics shooting guard Marcus Smart announced on Twitter Thursday that he has tested positive for the respiratory virus, urging his fans and followers to practice social distancing to stall the spread.
"The person, who was tested after experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 on March 16th, is now under the care of team medical staff and in self-isolation", the team said. "Both players are now asymptomatic, in quarantine and under the care of the team's physician".
Shams Charania of The Athletic also reports that three of the Los Angeles Lakers have also tested positive for the virus, though it's now unclear if this is the eighth team Silver referred to, or whether it represents a ninth organization.
