US President Donald Trump said Tuesday he would be happy to get a coronavirus test but that he has been told there´s no need, despite having had contact with several lawmakers who chose to self-quarantine.
At a White House meeting with USA bank leaders, Trump said "we'll be doing a lot of additional work with small businesses., many billions of dollars". He said the virus is "10 times more lethal than the seasonal flu".
The United States will ban all travel from Europe in the latest effort to minimise the spread of coronavirus. His travel restrictions on Europe were similar to what he declared on travel from China when the illness was spreading wildly there.
Among other measures, officials were considering placing a "Level 3 Health Travel Notice" on the entire European Union.
Even within the U.S., before Mr Trump's announcement many areas had declared a state of emergency and large gatherings were banned in New York, San Francisco and in Washington state.
He specifically ordered the Treasury Department to defer tax payments without interest or penalties for certain impacted individuals and businesses and called on Congress to provide "immediate" payroll tax relief, in addition to other measures. However, the travel restriction will not apply to Britain.

"This is not a financial crisis", he said. Mr. Trump wants to suspend the payroll tax through December 31, an administration official said.
