Flu-like symptoms can be indicative of infection with the novel coronavirus these days. You might have COVID-19 if you are experiencing a fever and cough followed by trouble breathing and you might require care. But not all patients exhibit these symptoms.
Almost all COVID-19 patients who needed ventilators in New York's largest health system to help them breathe died, a study found.
They typically occur with patients, although strokes are typical health issues with certain diseases.
The experts say Covid-19 seems to be the cause for sudden strokes in adults in their 30s and 40s, who are otherwise healthy. Those patients were unwilling to call 911 because they heard hospitals were overcrowded with coronavirus cases, doctors told CNN.
"The fact that in this small, preliminary study that it appears the virus that causes Covid-19 doesn't show up in the testes or semen could be an important finding".

For weeks, doctors have been seeing mysterious blood clots in some COVID-19 patients. "It includes one of the largest arteries in the brain", Dr. Oxley said. One hypothesis is that obesity causes chronic, low-grade inflammation that can lead to an increase in circulating, pro-inflammatory cytokines, which may play a role in the worst Covid-19 outcomes.
One doctor called the link between coronavirus and stroke "one of the clearest and most profound correlations I've come across".
"The virus appears to be causing increased clotting in the large arteries, leading to a serious stroke", said Mount Sinai Health System neurosurgeon Thomas Oxley.
One medical report out of Wuhan, China, showed that some hospitalized patients had experienced strokes, but many of those cases were seriously ill and elderly patients.
"It wasn't until January 31 that the virus was confirmed to be in the United Kingdom after two people tested positive in York".
"For comparison, our service, over the previous 12 months, has treated on average 0.73 patients every two weeks under the age of 50 years with large vessel stroke", the paper said.
The easiest way to remember the symptoms of a stroke and what to look for is the "FAST" method. Blocking a large artery in the brain will require a procedure called clot retrieval (see video at the end of this post), which must be done within 6 to 24 hours after the event. As the American Stroke Association explains, F is for face drooping, A is for arm weakness, S is for Speech Difficulty and T is Time to Call 911.
