Atlanta also saw some ugly scenes, including this burning of a police vehicle, prompting a passionate plea from Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.
He said abandoning the police station "sent a powerful message" that the city was not in control. "If they had they would have been greeted with the most vicious dogs, and most ominous weapons, I have ever seen", Trump wrote Saturday morning. He said the black community doesn't trust police and prosecutors to do the right thing.
In Minneapolis, the city where Floyd died Monday after a white police officer pressed a knee into his neck and kept it there for more than eight minutes, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz fully mobilized the state's National Guard and promised a massive show of force to help quell unrest that has grown increasingly destructive.
A second Sacramento protest is underway at the state Capitol downtown Saturday morning, one of many in cities across the country.
Two people have been reported killed in the protests; a federal security guard in Oakland and 21-year-old man in Detroit. State Officials Put Brakes On Phase Two Reopening

In Dallas, reports suggested, a police auto was set on fire by a group of protestors.
Officers deployed pepper spray int he crowd as they pushed against metal barriers and tried to remove them.
As the officers continued to push forward through the park, some protesters broke the bricks from the pavement and hurled chunks at the officers.
On Friday, Trump tweeted, "When the looting starts, the shooting starts", a phrase with racist origins which was censored by Twitter. Trump later said his comments had been misconstrued.
