Top-flight clubs voted unanimously on Wednesday to return to contact training and were meeting again on Thursday to discuss issues such as the restart date and the rebate to broadcasters.
After that, all 20 teams in England's top flight will have played the same amount of matches, with a full round of fixtures then following on the weekend of June 19-21.
Shareholders also approved a proposal that would see remaining matches broadcast live in the United Kingdom by the League's existing broadcast partners: Sky Sports, BT Sport, BBC Sport and Amazon Prime, the statement said.
The British domestic football league gave the greenlight to return, known as Project Restart, at a shareholders meeting.
"But this date can not be confirmed until we have met all the safety requirements needed, as the health and welfare of all participants and supporters is our priority".
United Kingdom death rate up nearly 60,000
Another 141 people have tested positive for Covid-19, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 13,556. The total number of lab confirmed cases in the United Kingdom now stands at 261,184, with the daily tally at 1,625.
It has been revealed in a report by the Telegraph that the remaining 92 games in the league will be scheduled to play within the six weeks to conclude the league.
"Sadly, matches will have to take place without fans in stadiums". NBC's other major sports league partner, the NHL, announced its plans to finish its own season with a 24-team playoff, earlier this week. After that, the FA Cup final is anticipated to take place on August 8, in addition to the remaining Champions League and Europa League fixtures, assuming the coronavirus pandemic has subsided to the extent that worldwide travel is allowed.
Players have recently returned to non-contact training and have undergone an extensive coronavirus testing programme since.
On Wednesday, all the clubs chose to start the contract training, having started non-contact one a week prior. Phase Two allows up to 10 players to work together and would ease the time restrictions on training sessions and allow players to be closer.
