In addition, the new app notably deprioritizes Alexa's third-party voice apps (known as "skills"), as many Amazon customers were not using the feature. It's to highlight the presence of Alexa in the app.
Users will get an updated home screen.
Also, since the Alexa button is at the top of the screen, the navigation bar added a new button - Play - to encourage media playback. Over time, with so many features regularly added and so many Alexa devices now on sale, the app seemed to have become a bit cluttered and it wasn't exactly intuitive at times when you wanted to find something in a jiffy.
Flooding threat continues as Hanna drops rain on borderland
It was expected to unload as much as 18 inches of rain (45 centimetres) on parts of South Texas and northeastern Mexico. However it added "heavy rain and risky flash flooding " are ongoing over north-east Mexico and in south-east Texas .
Ultimately, Amazon has clearly accepted that users are only going to come to the app for Alexa specific tasks - it's certainly how I use it, with the iPhone home screen my go-to for tasks like checking the weather. For example, new customers may even see options about enjoying songs with Amazon Music or prompts to handle their Alexa Procuring Checklist. You can tap on the button to activate the virtual voice assistant. Amazon has tucked away some of the advanced features, ones that require some tweaking, such as Reminders, Routines, Skills, and Settings, under the "More" tab. But this does not mean that the home screen is any less cluttered. That's why it's making it simpler to get to current actions, to allow them to successfully decide up the place they left off on no matter they had been doing on their Echo sensible speaker, for instance. It is getting a revamp, offering increased personalization and a greater focus on first-party features (via Techcrunch).
One can also still enable a hands-free experience, where they can just say "Alexa" whenever the app is open on the screen. The new update will be available before the end of August. It will be available to download from the Google Play store or App Store when it is available.
