According to a report, Level 3 which is an American multinational telecommunications and Internet service provider may have experienced the service outage first hand, and that may explain the T-Mobile outage across the country. Users across the country took to Twitter to highlight the outage. Customers also can't call/be called by other providers, leading to reports other providers are down too (they're not).
T-Mobile customers across the United States were reporting on Monday that they were unable to make and receive calls, and sometimes text messages.
Where the other three major carriers had less than 9k complaints at their peak, T-Mobile's peak was over 100k.
Ray did not identify the supplier dependable for the circuit that failed, but he stated T-Mobile is working to increase "permanent extra safeguards" to avert potential outages like Monday's. CenturyLink who owns Level 3 released a statement through its spokesperson saying there has been no current outage of their network.
The Down Detector said they could not yet determine the outage's extent but it appears that it started between 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. ET. Unfortunately, several media outlets and some random punters were erroneously reporting that several cellular networks in the USA were all having outages at the same time, so we must be under attack.

A test conducted by Down Detector in NY and Seattle found that making calls from T-Mobile would fail nearly immediately after placing the call.
