A Minnesota judge on Tuesday lifted a gag order in the criminal case against four former officers charged in death of George Floyd, but said he would take under advisement a news media coalition's request to make body camera footage more widely available.
According to Minneosta Reformer, Chauvin and his wife are accused of claiming Florida residency to avoid paying Minnesota taxes, resulting in six charges for filing false or fraudulent returns and three counts for failing to file tax returns.
The Chauvins' taxes came under scrutiny after Derek Chauvin was arrested for his involvement in Floyd's death on May 25.
Kellie Chauvin, who filed for divorce after Chauvin was charged for Floyd's death, is not in custody, the AP reported.
Chauvin worked as a Minneapolis police officer during that time as well as working in security at several different Minneapolis businesses, the court records said.

"He threw all the bottles that were in reach, all except for one which was a celebratory magnum-sized bottle of wine", she said. He picked up bottles and began to throw them. " Heard said that this was after he" smashed a telephone against a wall".
"When you fail to fulfill the basic obligation to file and pay taxes, you are taking money from the pockets of citizens of Minnesota", said Washington County Attorney Pete Orput.
The complaints allege that they also failed to pay proper sales tax on a $100,000 BMW purchased in Minnesota in 2018.
Chauvin is charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder and manslaughter. With unpaid taxes, interest and fees, they now owe $37,868 to the state. Three other officers who were at the scene, Tou Thao, Thomas Lane and J. Kueng, are charged with aiding and abetting both second-degree murder and manslaughter. Floyd, a Black handcuffed man, died May 25 after Chauvin, a white officer, pressed his knee into Floyd's neck for almost eight minutes. Prosecutors say the Chauvins bought the vehicle in Minnetonka but registered it in Florida, where they paid lower sales taxes. That person appears to have been Derek's own father, as prosecutors say Kellie responded, "Yeah well we don't want to get your dad involved because he will just be mad at me I mean us for not doing them for years".
Judge Peter Cahill also ruled Tuesday that he would not hold Attorney General Keith Ellison in contempt of court, saying a statement Ellison made when he announced that additional attorneys would be assisting in the prosecution was innocuous.
Lane's attorney, Earl Gray, filed the videos earlier this month as evidence supporting his motion to dismiss charges against Lane.
