Fifteen former female employees on Thursday accused multiple members of the Washington Redskins organization, including former scouts and members of owner Daniel Snyder's inner circle, of sexual harassment and verbal abuse.
This came after a recently published article detailed over a dozen instances of sexual harassment within the organization between 2006 and 2019.
The league says the Washington franchise has engaged outside counsel to conduct an investigation into the allegations. The league said it would meet with Wilkinson once the investigation is completed and "take any action based on the findings".
Two Washington employees were fired this week and longtime play-by-play announcer Larry Michael announced Wednesday he was retiring from the team. Former team president Bruce Allen is also not accused of inappropriate behavior, but Applegate believes he may have known about issues.
"We're trying to create a new culture here" head coach Ron Rivera said when asked about the dismissal of Santos and assistant pro personnel director Richard Mann.
Coronavirus: India hits 1 million Covid-19 cases
Japan's capital recorded a single-day record number of new coronavirus cases for a second straight day on Friday with 293. India has so far conducted 127,39,490 COVID-19 tests, including 3,26,826 on Thursday alone.
In the wake of the Washington Post report, some have called for Snyder to sell the team.
Santos, Mann, Michael and former business executives Dennis Greene and Mitch Gershman were mentioned in the Post story. "While we do not speak to specific employee situations publicly, when new allegations of conduct are brought forward that are contrary to these policies, we address them promptly". I'm pretty sure that if you made a complaint, the only thing that was going to happen was that you were going to get fired.
Here's how Michael announced his retirement: " After 16 great years my time with the organization is over.
Snyder declined several interviews for the report, according to the Post.
Rivera has reportedly been part of the franchise's team, along with Snyder, that's helping to devise and decide on the new nickname.
