Huntington Beach will also close its beaches, beach parking lots and pier on Saturday.
"Closing the beaches and banning fireworks during this important summer vacation weekend was an incredibly hard decision to make, but it is the responsible decision to protect public health and protect our residents from a deadly virus", said Barbara Ferrer, Los Angeles County Director.
Gov. Gavin Newsom has ordered bars and nightspots to close in seven counties including Los Angeles where the uptick in new cases has been dramatic.
Manhattan Beach now has 131 total coronavirus cases, including 32 new cases in the past week.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said Monday that he refuses to enforce a directive to close beaches for July 4th weekend.

County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer said June 29 was the highest number of new cases the county has ever recorded in a day and that the county didn't anticipate such a massive increase in cases when reopening began.
As of Tuesday, about 9% of the more than 1.1 million people tested in the county have tested positive.
The city's police department will increase monitoring and enforcement at the beach and can issue citations for people who do not comply with the closures, officials said.
"During the holiday weekend, beaches will be totally closed to all recreational activities".
Some pundits have attributed the rise in overall cases to increases in testing, but county officials said repeatedly in recent days that the metrics clearly demonstrate an increase in community spread of COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.
