Bharti cited coronavirus precaution as a reason for skipping the groundbreaking ceremony of Ram Temple.
"Ever since I heard about Amit Shahji and other BJP leaders of UP testing corona positive, I am anxious about those people who would be present in the foundation stone-laying ceremony in Ayodhya, particularly about Narendra Modiji", she wrote. Maybe I will meet an infected person before reaching Ayodhya tomorrow.
Two days ago, Ram temple priest Mahant Pradeep Das and 14 security personnel posted at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex where Modi will lay the foundation stone of the temple, had tested positive. "In such a situation, I have chose to maintain a distance from Prime Minister Modi and other attendees", he said in a tweet.
In a series of tweets in Hindi, Ms. Bharti said she had written to the Prime Minister's Office and to the senior officials of the Ram Janmbhoomi trust in Ayodhya requesting them to remove her name from the list of guests who would be present at the foundation laying programme that would be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Her announcement came a day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh tested positive for the infection.
Microsoft halts bid to buy TikTok's U.S. operations

Entire Ayodhya has been decked up ahead of August 5 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for construction of the Ram temple.
Bharti said she will be at another spot on the banks of the river Saryu during the bhumi pujan. Senior BJP leaders LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, also facing charges in the case, had also been invited for the event.
There has been speculation about the invitation to the two leaders, who are considered to be architects of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement that led to the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992.
