COVID-19 cases jump again in Kane County on Tuesday

139 total tests have been completed at the free COVID-19 testing at the Hopkins County Civic Center that's ongoing through the week.

The COVID-19 case fatality rate has declined to 1.84 percent. The overall coronavirus count reached 32,34,475 including 7,07,267 active cases, 24,67,759 cured/discharged/migrated and 59,449 deaths. A total of 278,939 people have recovered across the country. 8,23,992 samples were tested on August 25 while over 3.76 crores samples have been tested so far, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

So far, 1,129 people have died of COVID-19 in Punjab, 967 in Rajasthan, 770 in Telangana, 624 in Jammu and Kashmir, 613 in Haryana, 514 in Bihar, 419 in Odisha, 330 in Jharkhand, 252 in Assam, 234 in Kerala and 207 in Uttarakhand. According to the most up-to-date IDPH data, the region's seven-day rolling positivity rate was 6.4% as of August 22. ISU's testing positivity rate stands at 19.3%.

He said the positivity percentage on the basis of seven-day rolling average was 11 per cent in the first week of August which has now come down to eight per cent.

The state received the results of 40,859 COVID-19 tests in the 24 hours leading up to Tuesday afternoon.

About 76.30 per cent (24,67,759) people have recovered from the infection with 66,550 patients being discharged on Monday.

"A total of 7,04,348 patients are undergoing treatment".

Bhushan said that the tests per million per day is increasing gradually.

"The WHO has advised that a country needs 140 tests per day per million population as a measure for comprehensive surveillance for suspected COVID19 cases", it stated.

India reported on Tuesday the highest number of new coronavirus cases globally for the 18th straight day, remaining well ahead of the United States and Brazil, a Reuters tally based on official reporting showed. "Some initial information have been shared", he said.
