The Department of Health reported nine new cases of the coronavirus Monday, bringing the total cases confirmed in Vermont since the beginning of the pandemic to 1,566.
Of the new cases, five were reported in residents under 20, two in their 20s, five in their 40s, three in their 50s, four in their 60s and one over 80.
By specific health region, Henry said this equates to 1,651 known cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 2,739 in Fraser Health, 166 on Vancouver Island, 425 in Interior Health, 127 people in Northern Health, and 76 from those who reside outside the province.
Bell County now has 66 active cases, including seven who are hospitalized: a 66-year-old male, an 83-year-old male, a 62-year-old male, a 75-year-old male, a 94-year-old female, a 59-year-old male, and a 94-year-old male. There are now 230 people hospitalized in the state with COVID-19.
This brings the county's death toll to 36 people as of Monday, Aug. 24.
Of those cases, 591 people have recovered, which means they are alive 30 after the start of their infection, per the health department.

They said this case shows that while coronavirus patients develop antibodies, their levels could decrease after a few months. Chuang believes the upcoming massive screening will help identify unknown sources and cut transmission chains of the virus.
The county was placed on Oregon's COVID-19 "watch list" last week due to an apparent rise in cases from community spread.
"We need to all continue to do the right thing from the get-go, so that we don't need to use the enforcement measures".
Scioto County remains on a Level Two Public Health Emergency (Orange) of the Ohio Department of Health's Public Health Advisory System.
The big spike of 173 new cases last week were attributed to a date "catch-up" on one day.
"Our B.C. COVID-19 response is about all of us doing our part", she said.
Whitley County has a total of 17 active COVID-19 cases, including three people isolated in the hospital, and 14 isolated at home.
