Zoom is down in some parts of the US

Zoom is not working Monday morning for many of its users, according to the video conferencing company.

The video-conferncing service recently shot to promincence over th e course of the poandemic, and quickly became the first choice for scjhools and businesses.

Zoom users across the country reported issues with the video conferencing software. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, ' reads the email from a Zoom spokesperson.

Based on reports tracked by Downdetector, this outage is mainly affecting users from the United States East Coast and the United Kingdom.

People who rely on Zoom calls for remote school and work were unable to access the videoconferencing app Monday as it experienced widespread outages.

Some school districts like New York City, the nation's largest, don't begin until after Labor Day. By mid-morning trading on the Nasdaq, Zoom was down more than 1%.

As ZDNet reports, Zoom is now down.

Specifically, Zoom's status page says there are issues joining meetings and webinars, which means that the service is basically unusable. We are now investigating and will provide updates as we have them.

Grade schools, high schools and universities are relying on Zoom and competing technologies such as Microsoft Teams to learn remotely so as to reduce the chance of infection during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Zoom finally commented on Twitter about the outages, claiming a fix is coming soon.
