Warner Bros., the studio behind "Tenet", has moved aggressively to try to have pirated copies of the film taken down.
Coronavirus cases may be rising across the USA, but hey at least Tenet made more money than industry insiders thought they would.
Christopher Nolan's Tenet opened in worldwide markets this weekend and despite the ongoing global health crisis, the film generated a surprisingly large $53 million debut.
The film launched internationally over the weekend, and brought in $53 million, via Variety. Warner Bros. didn't provide other territory grosses, but said that 32 markets in Europe, Middle East and African region accounted for $37 million of the weekend's grosses despite reduced capacity. Pictures Group chairman said, "We are off to a fantastic start internationally and couldn't be more pleased. Christopher Nolan has once more presented an event-worthy motion film that needs to be viewed on the large screen, and we're thrilled that viewers throughout the planet are getting the chance to view Tenet".

In his supplementary statement, Bhushan had said that his tweets represent his "bonafide belief" which he continues to hold. After the decision, Bhushan said on Twitter that he and his lawyer Rajeev Dhavan had "contributed 1 Re immediately".
"Emmerich paid tribute to theatre chains across the globe" due to their tireless efforts in reopening their cinemas in a secure and socially-distanced manner. "Given the unprecedented circumstances of this global release we know we're running a marathon, not a sprint, and look forward to long playability for this film globally for many weeks to come". However, early ticket sales in markets where cinemas are open appear to be strong.
Tenet early access screenings in USA theaters begin on August 31.
EW reports that Tenet was published 41 nations from the previous week, such as the UK, Canada, France, Germany and Australia, however will not be rolled from the United States before Thursday, 3rd September.
